I acquired a lower mileage car that is nice and clean but the gear had play in it and I was told by a Ford dealer that they would need to take the steering column off because they no longer have an adjustment on the cable that drives the gear shift. Thank the Lord I found a man who adjusted it for me for $30 and not the $700.00 plus, that of the official dealer, estimated it would cost. There appears to be a conspiracy to defraud the public coming through ford management and even other dealers to drive repair cost up.
